Ireby alias Middleton of Stokeld

These arms are blazoned for " John de Irby " in Will. The same shield is given for "Pieres de Midelton " in Jen. Ord . John Irby was sheriff of Cumberland between 1388/9 5 for several years, as well as M .P . for the shire . There is an account of the place and family in NBWC II, 127 ff .
